Montesecondo Silvio Messana VDT Bianco (Trebbiano)
From organically farmed vines on sandy, rocky, clay-limestone soils in Lamporecchio near Pisa. The grapes are destemmed and fermented in tank spontaneously without sulfur and with a 5-day maceration. The wine is aged in cement and bottled without fining or filtering and with a small dose of sulfur. It is classified as a Vino da Tavola. 2020 was the first vintage. The label (featuring "Silvio Messana" rather than "Montesecondo") and the packaging (a clear bottle with a crown cap) separate this new line of wines, featuring departures in style and sourcing for Silvio that set them apart from the core Montesecondo estate wines.
