Denavolo Rosso Dinavolo MV 2022
Region, Country Emilia Romagna, Italy
Grape Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Barbera, Bonarda
it's a delightfully harmonious blend of 70% Pinot Grigio, 10% Pinot Noir, 10% Barbera, and 10% Bonarda. A ruby-colored wine, it's just a little wild and a lot savory on the nose, with a perfect trilogy of bright red fruit, florals, and earth. Aromas of sweet small berries, rose petals, and plum give way to forest floor and singed herbs. Lightly racy acidity and just a hint of rustic tannins keep things super fresh – and keep you coming back for more.
Denavolo is located in at the foot of the Apennines in Emilia-Romagna and is named for the mountain which it lays under. Denavolo’s vineyards are planted with indigenous varietals including Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and Ortuga. The various parcels are located between 350m and 600m above sea level. They are farmed according to Organic and Biodynamic principles.
In the cellar Giulio experiments with different fermentation vessels, including stainless steel tanks, amphora and old oak. The length of maceration time for each wine depends entirely on the character of the season.
