Iruai started in 2013 as a gypsy natural wine project before Chad and Michelle traded the urban winery hustle for a true vigneron life in the wild Shasta-Cascade mountains — an area that feels, as they put it, like a cross between Switzerland and Montana. No additives, no removal of character. In the vineyard, vines are encouraged to thrive as they would in the wild; in the cellar, each ferment is shepherded through its own natural development.
