Santuvario Vino Bianco Gino 2021
GRAPES 100% Erbaluce
REGION, COUNTRY Piedmont, Italy
“Gino” is named for vignaiolo Ivano Barbaglia’s grandfather, from the local white variety Erbaluce (for which there is no DOC designation in Alto Piemonte). Planted in high hills on the volcanic soils of Boca in the Alto Piemonte.
The vines in this tiny parcel average 40 years old, are organically farmed and harvested by hand. The grapes are destemmed and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. Maceration lasts about a month. The wine is aged in steel, racked twice and bottled with minimal sulfur.
Not produced annually and only in miniscule quantities if at all.
