The David family have been making wine in the Loire since 1634, making Sebastien 15th generation winemaker. The only variety grown is Cabernet Franc, mainly from vines planted by Sebastien's parent shortly after the end of the 2nd World War, but also from vines planted in the 1930's. The vines grow on limestone and clay soils with a little gravel - ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Franc. The estate is entirely biodynamic, and the wines are fermented with natural yeasts and contain no added sulphur.
Hurluberlu (translates to eccentric, weirdo) is vibrant cherry-red in colour. Aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries and plums. It is crunchy and fresh, with soft acidity. Best chilled!
