Chardonnay

Burgundy, France 

100% organic Chardonnay from a single vineyard site near Viré in the Mâcon of southern Burgundy. The 30 year-old vines are situated on a high altitude site that experiences constant winds, keeping the vines cool to help them build acidity and stave off mold and mildew pressure. The limestone soils also contribute to the wines sharpness. This classic expression of French Chardonnay is aged in older foudre, to achieve texture and roundness that is not as pronounced as it may be with smaller or newer oak usage. The wine has lovely elements of tropical and citrus fruits and with a touch of barrel, is a very well rounded and delicious wine.
