Domaine La Boheme, Violette
Old Gamay vines from Auvergne, grown on plots at 450m altitude, on clay-limestone and basalt soils. The wine is made using whole-cluster maceration followed by a year of aging in sandstone amphorae and demi-muids.
Very expressive! Think peppery notes. On the palate it's ripe, and supple, with fine tannins. A mineral, mouthwatering, spicy (again, pepper) and fruity red.
