Rabatiere Pineau D'Aunis 2021 Bertin-Delatte
Over the past ten years, the town of Rablay-sur-Layon has become a small center for young winemakers from the Loire Valley. While the village was traditionally known for its Chenin Blanc-based sweet wines, Bertin-Delatte 's Geneviève Delatte and Nicolas Bertin have chosen a different path, expressing their terroir through dry wines that are precise, structured and worthy of aging.
All the vines are grown organically. In the cellar, the winemaking philosophy is very simple: intervene as little as possible and let nature take its course. Fermentations take place with indigenous yeasts and the use of SO2 is minimal. The result is a collection of distinctive and pure wines, faithful to the vision and terroir of Geneviève and Nicolas.
Bertin-Delatte's Rabatiere Pineau d'Aunis 2021 is produced with 100% Pinot d'Aunis, a local red grape from the Loire. Intense ruby color, it expresses lively aromas of red flowers, cherry and wet earth on the nose, while the sip is characterized by soft tannins, a refreshing acidity and a wonderful peppery note on the finish.
