Domaine Batard Langelier Le Moulin de Gustais 2021
From the youngest generation of the family, 3rd generation Jeremie Batard. He supposedly staged at Pepiere (the OG of Muscadet)!
A light gold color, a slight haze from the lees aging. A pronounced, rich nose of honey, salt, creamy lees notes from the aging, mineral stones, fresh lemons and limes, and white blossom. A juicy, medium body has some fine textural weight, med+ acidity, with pronounced citrus and orchard fruits, honey and saline. A long, persistent, complex, fun and delicious finish, a banger!
Cepage: 100% Melon de Bourgogne | 40-year-old vines
Winemaking: Gentle pressing of the grape harvest with a pneumatic press. Static settling for one day and fermentation in traditional glass-enameled underground tanks. Indigenous Yeasts. Healthily grown and vinified with no added sulfites. 12-month aging on fine lees with regular stirring.
