Country: France

Located just outside of the village of Lenthéric, within Faugères, in the Languedoc, the 28-hectare Clos Fantine estate is run by three siblings: Carole, Corinne and Olivier Andrieu, combining their individual talents to run the business. They built their winery in 2000, three years after their father (a winemaker with a talent and passion for natural wines) passed away, and have been making natural wines in his honor ever since. All their wines are made from biodynamically grown grapes without any added sulfur and spend 18-20 months in concrete vat.
50% de-stemmed Cinsaullt + 50% whole-cluster Aramon. 7-day maceration, then pressed. fermentation and aging in concrete. Cinsault is picked first, after a few days the fermentation is going strong and the concrete tank is saturated in C02; they then add the Aramon and leave the two varietal co-ferment for 7 days before pressing. Bottled unfined & unfiltered, with no added sulfur.
A juicy, lighter tannin structured cuvée, La Lanterne has a clean, natty purity. Silky and velvety with notes of blackberry, herbs, and lilac. Concentrated and earthy with compelling acidity.
