Rabasco Rosato Cancelli 2024

In the heart of Abruzzo, near the village of Pianella, lies the 3.5-hectare estate of Iole Rabasco. This property benefits from its unique location, positioned about 40 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea and at the base of the Gran Sasso mountain.

Iole inherited her family's small vineyard and olive grove, which have always been farmed without the use of chemicals. The vines, primarily Montepulciano with a few rows of Trebbiano, are on average 40 years old and planted at 450 meters above sea level. The soil is a mix of calcareous clay, alluvial sediment, and fossil remains.

Iole works the vines by hand, training them in the traditional tendone pergola style. She keeps yields low to prioritize acidity and freshness over power and extraction in her wines.
