2023 Domaine Pignier 'GPS' Côtes du Jura Blanc, Jura, France

Domaine Pignier's name for this white spells out its grapes: Gamay Blanc (the old Jura name for Chardonnay), Poulsard pressed as a white, and Savagnin, co-fermented. It is aged briefly in oak barrels and clay amphorae with regular topping up and no added sulfur, and bottled on flower days of the lunar calendar. The 2023 is ripe, supple and juicy, with pear, apricot, citrus, flowers and a touch of dry honey and almond, and a mineral edge. The vineyards are biodynamic, on black clay loam and limestone.
