About this wine
No. 505 is Hiroshima’s first natural winery, opened in May 2024 by Shingo Otō on a hilltop plateau in Mihara. This pét-nat-style sparkling rosé is made from Japanese table grapes (Aki Queen, Black Beat and Tenshu), fermented with wild yeast and bottled with no added sulfur. Expect fresh-picked grape, violet and strawberry, all at just 9.5% alcohol. The name plays on Hiroshima dialect for “out of reach,” a nudge to stop comparing and enjoy what’s in your glass.
