2022 Montenidoli 'Rosso' Sangiovese, Tuscany, Italy | 750ml | 14%

A 100% Sangiovese from Elisabetta Fagiuoli's organic estate above San Gimignano. The grapes macerate and ferment in glass-lined cement tanks, then mature in French barrels, with bottling after one year to keep its youth. It is a bright, brilliant red with a fresh, clean nose, lively and exuberant on the palate, with red cherry, cinnamon, rose petal and crushed autumn leaves. It is mid-weight but packs a punch, with a long finish. Importer notes call it a meat wine.
