Denavolo Bianco Catavela 2023

This latest iteration of Catavela tastes like limestone, sun, and warm summer wind in liquid form with pithy grapefruit and white floral lift dominating the nose. On the palate, the wine develops a few extra 'love handles' in the fruit department, with tangier citrus morphing into fleshy apricot and honeysuckle flecked with tropical flowers, salty acidity, and crunchy minerals.

Denavolo is located in at the foot of the Apennines in Emilia-Romagna and is named for the mountain which it lays under. Denavolo’s vineyards are planted with indigenous varietals including Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and Ortuga. The various parcels are located between 350m and 600m above sea level. They are farmed according to Organic and Biodynamic principles.

In the cellar Giulio experiments with different fermentation vessels, including stainless steel tanks, amphora and old oak. The length of maceration time for each wine depends entirely on the character of the season.
