La Ferme de Sept Lunes is an organic, polyculture farm located in the hills of Saint-Joseph in the Rhône Valley. Jean Delobre's grandfather founded the farm in 1984, and today Jean farms not only grape vines but also grains and assorted orchards. La Ferme des Sept Lunes is coprosed of a patchwork of vineyards ranging in vine age and composition (he grows Syrah, Roussane, Marsanne, Gamay and Viognier), all on a bedrock of granite. The grapes are all hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, and only small amounts of sulfur are added prior to bottling to ensure stabilization.
La Ferme des Sept Lunes Glou is made from 100% Gamay from the farm's young vines. Two-thirds of the fruit is destemmed and one-third undergoes whole-cluster fermentation and the wine is aged in tank. The name Glou refers to its lip-smacking drinkability.
Floral, herbaceous, raspberries with ripe, wild cherries, strawberry and a bit of spice. Light, easy and dangerously drinkable.
