Domaine des Tours Reserve 2018
Emmanuel Reynaud is the fourth generation of wine growers at this estate; he took over from his father at Chateau des Tours in 1997 and now also runs Chateau Rayas in Chateauneuf, following the death of his uncle Jacques Reynaud. Reynaud chooses to distinguish wines made from his properties in the Vaucluse region by labeling them “Domaine des Tours” rather than “Chateau des Tours.” Regardless, his wines are based upon very old Grenache vines, giving wines of little color but great intensity of aroma and flavor. This red from the Vaucluse is a blend of Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, Cinsault and Merlot; it has aromas of earth, tobacco, and dark red fruit and is medium-bodied and well-structured, with soft tannins.
