In the sense that these grapes are planted at the very edge of possibility this has a lot in common with the Sun Dog. This is from two adjacent sites on the cool, west side of Underwood Mountain planted to Albarino and Pinot Gris. The Albarino was pressed directly and the Pinot Gris spent about 4 days on the skins coloring the wine rose gold. This smells of an alpine forest after the rain. It has the same cool pine inflected glow of petrichor. There’s also lime, salted peach and green tea. The wine is rich, but never glossy, startlingly pure like a spring but in no way hard. A very gentle evocation of its place.
